The PSALM
The PSALM stands up for Prayer, Simplicity, Availability, Liturgy and Moderation - the five pillars of the Holy Friendship.
Prayer is communicating with God and it can be done in three ways - through personal prayers, prayers with a small group during prayer meetings and other small community gatherings and the big Church community during Sundays and Holy Days of obligation.
Simplicity means a lifestyle in accordance with what God is providing you and not what you wish to have. It could be that you will have a more comfortable life or a less luxurious living than others but as long as it is within your capacity and you are not trampling down on others rights and not disregarding others needs then there's nothing to be guilty about.
Availability comes to play when we give time to more important things than what we wish to accomplish. It is proper to exert more effort to work if we want to have more in life but it must not divert our attention from fulfilling our duties to God, country, family and others.
Love cannot be disregarded because it is the supreme law of holy friendship: Love one another as I have loved you! according to the Lord.
Moderation must be practiced if we want to control our lower appetites and be free from abusing our bodies to the point of endangering our lives because of excessive intake of food and drinks, unbriddled desire for fame and popularity, etc.
Let the PSALM guide us in our daily lives and let us sing psalms of joy to the Lord!
